All this talk about a boring bar and I thought it was for a milling machine .That thing is a little boring mill VTL or whatever they call it these days .

I used to work at a place called Baldwin -Lima -Hamilton,once a builder of large steam locomotives ,some of the largest ever made .They had huge Niles and Bullard boring mills with tables maybe 20 feet wide .--I've never seen one that small .

Oh course I know what a Bridgeport mill is ,I own one. I looked up Lagun of which I'd never heard of but didn't find anything like that .So is it a specialty machine of some sort .It doesn't have the traditional milling machine slide table with x and y axis . Am I missing something ?

I'm not making sport of it but with a real Bridgeport traditional design machine ,it will tilt, nod, turn sideways ,up side down if you wanted .Add a right angle quill and a rotary table and maybe a turn vice there is nothing you can't cut .
With one exception,I've yet to figure out how to mill threads on bolt stock like a CNC milling centers are capable of .On the other hand I've made gears with a little help from a lathe .

Same as a Bridgeport but you won't find very many Bridgeports with a 3 hp motor.

I have a rotary table, Kurt vise, 4 jaw chuck for the rotary table, opposing dead center, and a right angle attachment for the quill

Well yeah that is but what is that yellow thing then? I thought that was what you were talking about.

As far as power that little Model M Bridgeport I have only has a half horse .Probably a good thing because it's the much dreaded round column type.Which is hoax because they'll do anything a 2 HP J model will do just not as fast.

Nice mill work BTW.:applaudit:

The little yellow thing in the video is a digital caliper mounted to the quill for more accurate cutting depths
