Anyone know anything about LRB pistons for these pioneer saws? I heard fine things about them but specifically the P40, P41, etc has an issue with the wrist pin or something not lining up making it usable? Theres no other piston for these things and I need one. Watching tinman not use the LRB piston because of fitment has me worried.

Just so I am clear, you are looking for a piston, wrist pin and wrist pin clips for a P40/P41? With the potential issues you are hearing about the Little Red Barn's version, are you looking for a OEM parts (that is if confirmed that the LRB parts will not work)?

Also have had terrible luck with LRB's pistons and products. I'd just as soon do without. Which is sad to say for as many different obscure models that they try and cover for.
@JacobSaws try and place a want ad in the parts dept. here, it's surprising what's still stashed lying around, just waiting for a new home.

Yeah. I'd like to run LRB but the experiences I'm hearing are making me think otherwise. I'd love to get new oem piston, rings, wrist pin and clips, and bearing. I'll keep looking around, maybe a good used piston with new rings?

I have a farmsaw, that kit would work, correct?

You should be able to transfer parts over - make sure the ignition/flywheel/cylinder all match up. Check the IPLs to verify.

I think the P-39 is the closest to the Farmsaw out of the P-series, but the 40/41 aren't far off.

I have used a few LRB pistons, my experience has been mostly good.

First one I received (70 cc McCulloch) did not have the ring grooves cut deep enough, rings would not go in the piston. Wrist pin is too small to press into the connecting rod.

Next project was a PM650 (McCulloch), piston was about 0.0005" smaller than the piston in the saw. I reused to OEM wrist pin since the LRB supplied wrist pin was too small for a press fit in the connecting rod. This has been an ongoing issue for LRB pistons on saws with a press fit wrist pin.

Next was an SP125 (McCulloch). Piston was 0.0005" oversize but it happened to be in the direction the cylinder was also slightly oversized so it turned out to be a good fit. I had to shorten the wrist pin to allow the retaining rings to properly seat. That saw only sees occasional run time but it has worked well so far.

Last was a Jonsereds 451E, piston and wrist pin fit and worked. I did reuse the original retaining rings rather than using the ones (with ears) supplied with the piston.

I don't have the requirements to post there yet. How can I ask for a recoil as it's something I also need. I believe its 475324 or 475323 for the farmsaw. I can't find any on eBay or any other site. Is there any other P series that will fit the farmsaw? Also, thanks for your input, I'll be staying away from LRB.

Shouldn't be any problem if you're looking at buying not selling, no? If so, we'll get you some assistance in the matter one way or the other.

Well, the odds of someone selling this part. I thought I needed to make a listing and ask if anyone had that part and was willing to sell it. I'm new to forms so still figuring stuff out. But yeah, if there's any way I can get in contact with someone who has a whole bunch of farmsaw parts that would be amazing.
