heres a couple pics of my crawler loader, I use it alot for various things, snow plow, tree skidding, and stump removal, I did some clearing at my house over the winter with it, I am getting ready to move it up to the family homestead on Saturday, I am going to dig in a fire break all the way around the property this summer, I have forest service on 2 sides and stimson timber on the other, all the forests around me are pretty ripe for a fire filled with ground and ladder fuels, one of these years it's gonns burn good and hot and I wanna be ready to defend my land.

My kids spent a lot of time with their grandparents (including holidays) because my wife and i work a lot. Now that they’re 14 and 12 they’re home by themselves for a few hours after school. Call it bad parenting or whatever but they’ve learned responsibility and can take care of themselves. They both have Iphones
sometimes you have to do what's best for your family. even if people don't agree. I know at time my rents and in-laws didn't agree with all of our life decision's, but we just tell them that, we respect your input, but this is our decision, and our convictions on what we feel needs to be done.

My neighbor has a very similar JD loader. His water pump went out...spent the day before this photo helping him replace it. Recovers tracked skid steers and rips out stumps like a boss.

Don’t need a wide load permit or license plates on the trailer to haul it if you pull it with a tractor 😂

I agree. There is more to it and we do spend a lot of time with them, with their sports and school activities and such.

Looks like a perfect place to store some tires until they’re needed again !!

No black smoke, no tires?
I’ve burnt pine and cedar branches in my outdoor boiler and they put out more nasty smoke than an actual tire does lol

This is a few bags of moldy soybeans burning. This stuff will choke Linda Loveless !!

Different view. Just plain awful but great heat outta them !!

Heck you are supposed to blend them in with good beans. :)
There are countless stories here of the terminals blending corn with beans when loading barges. A typical barge holds a bit over 50,0000 bushel. A full tow (double) is 15 barges (3 wide x 5 long). In theory you can put two on the hip but generally they have to be empties. So a typical full tow holds 750,000 bushel. If you are allowed 2% foreign material you can in theory blend 1000 bushel of corn to each barge of beans. If corn is $4 and beans are $13 that is an additional $9000 of "free money" per barge or $135,000 per tow. The big boys are not as honest as you might think.

Black smoke matters!
I have various colors of smoke.

The last few weeks I have been texting with a woman almost every night that lives south of me and works for the Iowa prison system. Last night I asked her what she was doing and she said she was doing laundry. I texted back that I was relaxing in my chair outside, enjoying the evening air, and finishing smoking my second bowl of the evening. I then chuckled and waited for her stunned reply. She said well although she did not smoke weed that it was OK because it is legal in Illinois.

I chuckled and sent her a picture.

I’d be a lier if I said I didn’t at least think about doing that …….

These bags of moldy beans were more moldy pods and “non-beans” than actual beans. Probably a 50/50 mix by weight. Pops didn’t have the combine adjusted properly and we had a bunch of beans germinate 6 weeks after planting because of how dry it was last spring and it all created a heck of a mess in the bin. We sifted through them and I bagged and burned all the crap we took out. 45 feed bags got ran through the stove. Made for some good heat !!

The stuff in the center has been sifted and the stuff under the far bags has not. It was unsaleable the way it was so we cobbled together a screen system with grinder mixer screens and got after it.

They have always just been called Hedge here but I know other areas call them different. It is like pop, soda, and cola we are all speaking the same language but use a few different words.

Now when someone calls this a truck I get a bit bewildered.................

My uncle has a Chevy Avalanche. It’s super rusty. Impressively tho, it has just over 400K miles on the original motor and tranny and it’s still his daily. As a joke we all call it a “Barbiemobile” due to the style.
