Hey everyone. Got another saw I'd like to sell. I rebuilt this 288 a few weeks ago. I was going to keep it but it's time to thin out some saws. Don't get me wrong it has a lot of power and I like it but I'm just not real attached to it. I'm going to list out the work I did to it but if you have a question about something please ask. Parts and work done are as follows:
New SKF crank bearings
New oem oil seals
Original KS cylinder cleaned up
New old stock oem piston
All gaskets and o-rings are new
New cylinder bolts
New pull cord & handle
New flywheel air conductor shroud
New ign. coil lead wires
New on/off switch
New spark plug
Rebuilt tillotson carb.
New K&N air filter
New fuel & oil caps
New fuel line & filter
New fuel tank vent
All anti-vibe mounts except for seventh mount are new
Muffler has been modified and is dual port with fresh ceramic high temp paint
New Muffler bolts
New chain brake band
New rubber chip flap
New clutch springs
New clutch needle bearing
New 8 pin 3/8 sprocket
Wrap handlebar tig welded on flywheel side
Cylinder did have some transfer on exhaust side when I got it but it cleaned up without too much trouble. Piston to Cylinder wall clearance after the clean up is .0035. Wrap handlebar had a break on the flywheel side but has been tig welded and seems pretty solid. Exhaust port has been polished but otherwise Cylinder porting is stock. Chain brake works great! High top cyl. cover is in great shape, no cracks or breaks. Comes with an older style 28" hooskie bar and full skip chain with a lot of life left. Bar is straight and has clean rails and good sprocket tip. This saw runs great and is a real power house. It's sure to make its new owner happy! I've very happy with how this one turned out and would like to see it go to a good home. Asking $650 shipped. Before it leaves here I can put the spark arrestor screens back on the muffler if you so choose. Also just a heads up folks I am over on the west side of the country in Idaho. Please note that any location east of Minnesota, Iowa, etc.. will have an additional $25 tacked on to help absorb the cost of shipping. I use UPS and package will be fully insured. Sorry about this folks but shipping costs right now are insane. Thanks!
