love looking at old AJS,Matchless, vincent,Norton's.never could afford one so had to stick with jap and a few italian bikes.

Yeah they do look good , all the above makers made cool cafe racers , in the end they all went too one company and since then they all went under and got bought out and re vamped then failed again
I read last week that the son of the works race rider for AJS in the 1930's bought the AJS name in 2002 and has been producing bikes ever since

It is a similar scenario to the Indian motorcycle company who I read that are now owned by Polaris

Same here we never wanted the British bikes always breaking down and none of em would go or corner like the jap bikes

brits were known for handling. took japs til mid 70s to start taking that seriously. on & off road.
suz tm400, kaw h2, just 2 examples of fast & ill handling. yam rd350 was one exception and pretty much ended the brit twins [and triples] in roadracing.

"better to be fast on a slow bike than be slow on a fast bike." -dick mann in the 60s, racin bsa, when japs started out.

Yeah the RD put Yamaha on the circuit I remember Kenny Roberts very well and his long association with Yamaha I remember seeing the rd350 in the showroom window white with the blue stripes
Awesome times 70's and 80's for racing

The name seems vaguely familiar......hmm?

Wasn't he the guy that threatened to moon you, if you drove past his house?

I thought he wanted Randy's autograph on his ass
