Yeah, you stated, "Oregon=Junk". Not sure what you expected when you make posts like that? Also, be clear from the get go, and it will alleviate a lot of confusion. Like, "Hey, I bought the cheapest bar I could find, worked the piss out of it, and now I think Oregon makes *s-wordty bars".....

I've had some bad experiences with Oregon's lower end factory branded bars. Just don't hold up. I'm not going to chance it with their more expensive stuff. Sugi,Tsumura, G.B. and Windsor(old nos) for me. I have every intention of buying from LCS when the time comes.

I got some elcheapo GB rims from Greg, I wasn't surprised when they didn't fit because they had casting flaws. I was still able to use them after a little work with a small diamond file. I called Greg to tell him about the defect....and he sent me my money back......including shipping. I told him that was not necessary, but he insisted.

That gents is how to keep a guy coming back. I'll be buying from LCS again for sure.

the oregon A041 bars with the single rivet holding the sprocket nose
those are J U N K.
Aren't those pretty much the same nose that cannon used on the super bar?

They hold up just as good as any I've used

Yeap. Many of the bars came through short a nose rivet. After being told of this I thought he'd send out some rivets, but he arranged a whole bunch of new noses and rivets. Pretty darn good service. There are a few dealers on here like that, where I feel totally looked after and will keep coming back for sure.

It seems as though the hardening on the Chinese GB bar rails is next to none. It seems to take next to no time (relative to other bars) to wear through that surface hardening and then it's like mowing through butter it's so soft. Has anyone else noticed this?

this doesn't apply to those bars there is one rivet holding the sprocket between the two laminated halves
see here at the nose of the bar these are what im talking about.
