I saw a post they made replying to a similar Facebook thread where they explained they are a family business of only a few folks and they had a death in the family and are swamped as they were growing rapidly. No affiliation with them or have even placed an order with them, but that would certainly explain it.
Rings in the mind like a Mechanic telling you "Yupp We're waiting for the right part Now". an Old GEECH comic/cartoon.

I agree, HL supply is a great outfit to buy from, no complaints so far, everything arrives on-time and well packaged. There was one time that a part ordered was actually out of stock and they went above and beyond to make it better.
They always go out of their way to make things right if the buyer is decent about it. If you come unhinged over something they can’t control, the outcome may not be as favorable or speedy

Easier for me to get everything here through Bruce. I message him one day and get a price usually that afternoon or the next. Tell him I want it and it’s here 3 days later with extra padding added around every saw.

Yep, I do use HL too, when I can. In this case one item I needed was $60 with free shipping at SS, and $90 plus shipping (and out of stock) at HL. I realize the value of supporting site sponsors but a $30+ difference is hard to overlook. I have always had good luck with HL's service, for sure.

Haha! I remember a conversation on one of the boards (maybe here) about an issue with an order from HL, but when the paper trail came out I couldn't make heads or tails of the complaint either. Always best to recognize that mistakes happen and to be civil as long as you can, unless the other party just won't allow it. I will say I've always had good service from HL.

Thanks for the input, folks, I do appreciate it!

90% of my purchases are split between HL and Duke's, if I can't find it there, then I usually have to go to eBay or one of the lesser knowns like Wolf Creek or Bailey's.

Communication skills are sadly declining at a breakneck pace. I was on hold yesterday for over 90 minutes yesterday with a State of Illinois office.......I have up. I called another and was put on hold them they disconnected after 45 minutes.

I understand that companies are based throughout the country and with 5 time zones in the 48 states it makes things tough. I love companies based in the western portion. If their hours are 8-5 Pacific then I can call them later since they are open until 7 PM my time. If they are in the east and are open the same hours then they are closed by 4 PM. It is really frustrating if their hours are 8-4 as then it is 3 PM.
You should move.

I have found this to be the case as well on the half a dozen or so Echo and Husqvarna saws that I have ordered from Bruce.

I find the choices for Stihl chainsaws lacking, am I looking in the wrong section at H&L when wanting to purchase a Stihl?

Nope. They aren’t a stihl dealer

Bought a 620pw and a 4910 from saw suppliers. Decent pricing but they are not a saw shop with a skilled saw mechanic. Always slow to ship and some sort of bllsht excuse.

If you're a youtube charlatan, I bet things ship quicker from saw suppliers.

They sent me some complimetary aftermarket felling spikes for a 620pw, as a nice gesture for some sort of late bllsht. They were made of fkn sheet metal. 😄. A child could bend them.

On the 4910, the felling spike punctured a "complimetary" container of oil. Packaging was half-assed with no padding and everything was covered in oil.

Nowadays, they won't ship to Alaska. No skin off my back.

Yep, the first package was returned because somehow the gallon jug of Red Armor got damaged and leaked onto everything else. I don't know how it was packaged to start with, but the jug was well wrapped on the replacement order. One of the saw bars and a couple of the rim sprockets I had ordered also came lightly pre-oiled with red oil (to prevent rusting, I assume - LOL). But it didn't hurt anything, of course. They had been cleaned up pretty well.

I bought a bar and a saw from them two different purchases separated by a couple years. Shipped the same day and I received them the day after I ordered them.

They are only a little over 2 hours from me......

That was somewhat my point as my posts centered around my purchases of Stihl products purchased from Saw Supplier, hard to buy a Stihl from H&L if they do not sell Stihl. I am needing to purchase a couple of new bars for Stihl and Echo and will see which of two have better pricing as I came here for the H&L link first.

Totally spaced on checking with Mike I have bought from him in the past with good pricing.

Fell into new 500iR deal this January and still yet to be fired  and wanted a different bar setup and finally just decided I wanted to try the nano bar chain combo on a 2511. New 500i muffler cover from MMWS should be here on Wednesday so I can test new mostly stock vs newly MMWS ported 500i.

Placed order 10:00am yesterday received out for delivery notice at 6:00am this morning with expect delivery by 10:00am which if they hit their delivery time would be 24 hour free shipping. only 3ish hours away but still.
