If you google it there are quite a few pictures I think they came in red blue and gold colors.. the gold was for the 1958-59 models.

I did. I see, there was a blade attachment..any other attachments?????

Local AD I spotted today . The fellow has 3 or 4 complete green brick top engines D series engines all NEW !! , never been on a mower , factory replacement engines
Told him I would take all of them so he's supposed to get back to let me know for sure how many he has . Not local , about a 1.5 hr drive but worth it . I have a couple of empty decks for 2 of them .

That would be quite the score. I looked for almost a year to get enough parts to rebuild the engine on my buttercup.

He just emailed me and said he has 2 complete engines , it was other stuff in boxes . So hopefully I get those 2 , you never know when you're dealing with an on line sale .
Another fellow has a LB dealer special tool kit he's dropping off next Monday , hope that works out too .

Looks like I'm good to go next Sat. I'll try and post pics when I get them . I'm still thinking i'm sort of dreaming on these , what's the chances of finding 2 new complete D series brick tops !

Well it was too good to be true . I should have gone right away . The fellow has cut contact with me the past couple days and unless he contacts me tonight it's a no go driving 2+ hours to Toronto to pick them up .
After several Email and a couple phone calls no reply so it's not looking good . I've got a word for sellers like that..........

All is good , fellows phone messed up got hold of me late last night and I got them today . Both new , never run or even gassed .
Rare 500 series as well (D series mostly 400 and 600) , bearing in bottom crank instead of the brass bushing that wears . Checked them over , lubed them and both have spark . Had to replace the foam filters , they turned to dust pretty much .
I'd post pics but I guess I need to host them to post ??

You should be able to start a new post and before posting hit the upload a file and pick the picture from you phone or computer it will then load up and you can choose thumb nail or full size image. Attach it and then hit post reply. That is great that you got the motors.

You'll notice these don't have the Lawn-Boy name on them , just the Iron Horse ID sticker and IH on the box .

Can't wait to get these fire up in a while , have to clean and paint 2 nice 19" decks I have and will order LB stickers for these .

Well I don't know if there is a lot out there , there certainly is some sitting in a forgotten building somewhere like these . Hard part is finding and getting it .
I was lucky with this one , doubt I'll come across something like these again and glad just to get these .

The kicker , the 2 cost me $80
