the original iron horse was the same as an outboard motor ( Johnson I think?) , that’s why they have that odd exhaust set up.
There’s a copy of the Suzuki lawn mower engine called an iron horse too .
You made me google it Andrew. Yep, D400 Iron Horse was built by OMC '54 to '77, which i did not know. Apparently now collectable. Fock that.

Is the zook mower as shaky also??
Can't say I noticed the victas vibrations but perhaps I might in the weekend now haha

Few other breeds too yup a couple green ones off raumati View attachment 270869
The muffler on the Green Poulan....:aplastao:

Notice a few of those Mac's with no chain brake:D

Welcome aboard also....[/QUOTE]

Yeah no brake is ok for a play saw cutting rounds of firewood i have 1 7-10 with no brake and that 2-10 right hand start is just a shelf sitter/play saw.

Two saws I use alot with no brake is my old 10-10 with an S in it man it rips and is real light. Makes my mates ms311 look silly. And that green 4000 with the cool muffler. Its dam neer my favourite saw. It started as a 3400 from raumati it goes well

The weight thing isn't that bad the PM saws from 77 on are heavy the older ones are not.
The SP81 with lovely AV and a brake weighs 10.2kg with half a tank of gas and a 24. 82cc of grunt that will nearly keep up with a 7900 dolly will out cut a 372 and run with a 181/281

1971 the SP80 came out :)

Oh and cheers for the welcome

Not tryna to start something, but not all 372's are built up equal shall we say. I'm sure that applies to Mac's too.

I'm pretty sure Billys 372 is woods ported so puts out more power than a stock 372.

One day we should do a gtg like our yank brothers do and bring our toys out for some comparisons .

Agreed. That 372 is a pretty good 1 though. And chains. He does have it squeaked pretty lean though to be fair.

Summint like that. Just holla if any of you are up north. Cold beer or Hot tea/coffee/milo and food always available. I'm not into any this colour vs that colour saw bragging tho.

I want to visit the chainsaw museum up your way so will let you know .

those old macs are like driving an Xy gt falcon and a 372 is a Tickford xr8 . Ideally you’d have both if you could .

Not something i've ever seen the need for mate. What's the application?
For noodling the ends of big logs so that when you cut the ring off its in blocks small enough to lift easy. 70 cc saw, 16 inch bar seems to have power to spare with 8 pin . I have a ten but that is to much . Just wanted to try a 9 pin
