I measured the gasket that I originally took off.

Took the muppler off and tweaked the deflector into shape.

Punched some holes with the highest precision muffler modfing tool available, the uni-bit, and put in the bolts.

Then I took the deflector off and using another high precision tool, got myself a rough idea of where to punch a hole.

And scratched myself a reference point using my handy little Stihl carburetor screwdriver.

I then went with a 1/2" hole.

I figured I could always go bigger if it was deemed necessary easier than welding it shut and starting over.
I will be welding nuts to the inside for the bolts, that way screens could be used if desired, but that will wait until I'm at work as I currently don't have any gas for my welder.

@Mastermind makes his own gas. It's a homemade special recipe.

But seriously....I can't keep welding gas since the boys learned how to weld.

My tank lease was due at the height off all the covid shutdown stuff. At that point in time I didn't know how any of that would affect my paychecks I didn't renew it. I've been meaning to go and get a tank, but I'm a slacker.

A 288 screen will fit right under that defector, if you want one and are having a hard time finding one, let me know. ;)
