I cleaned up the AV stuff today.
I noticed the blue on a couple of the mounts when I took it apart but never looked closer, just thought they were aftermarket.

They are not. They are Stihl parts.
Is that something to do with this being an R model saw?

There’s 3 different AV mounts ranging in firmness. Iirc the blue AV mounts were the stiffest. R models typically came with them.

Thanks for doing this thread . I may be using this as a reference .A guy dropped off a ” stihl saw ,that runs but won’t idle . Well, it’s a 10mm 044 . Been abused badly. The PTO bearing let go and those pieces got eated in the cylinder . Piston’s toast , cylinder may make it . The owner isn’t really interested in putting anything into it , so I will make him an offer ( depends if the cylinder will be okay ) .

After the tank has been sitting after I heated it and clamped it this entire time, I took the clamps off.

It straightened out pretty good.
I'd say if I were to put a rod or block in there and epoxy or plastic weld it, it would be more than serviceable.

That being said, there's still a bunch of breaks on this so it will be set in the spare parts box and I'll use a different tank.
