This is why I bought my Dolmar lineup, I like the ability to adjust with my ears and a screwdriver, I dnt want to have to use a computer to adjust anything, I am glad to have so many saws with carburetors, in have owned and will again own some with a computer, I dnt want to fall behind either.

It will be very telling if the Makita /Dolmar group along with Echo start to introduce electronics in there ranges over the next few yrs. My perspective on this thread is of corse from the European side and not "at this time" directly under the US ...EPA.
Niko..Saw troll.. has said many times that the tech belongs to Husqvarna with Stihl having to pay for its use (I cant say if this is a fact or not) .

been in trucks bout that long. much as I like mechanical cats, they will not stay with the new stuff w/o some mods, throwing mileage and reliability out the window. the bad w/new stuff is yer toolbox is a 800 number.
My dad thought different...he's also a diesel mechanic. lol In order to get mileage you many times sacrifice power, the new cummins is complete junk to the old cummins as well. They claim 900 torque out of the 6.7 yet it won't even do a burnout! Stupid computer decides when you get 900 torque. lol Stupidest thing I have ever seen. If I spend 60K on a darn pickup truck I want 900 foot pounds of torque when I want it....not when the truck deems it necessary! Guess that's why duramax and power stroke keep getting more popular...I'm gonna miss the good ol 5.9.
Not saying trying to keep air somewhat clean is bad, but the extent they are forcing companies to go to is stupid.

3406 spacer plate will make 475 hp all day long and live almost forever while doing it. My friend that passed away this past December had a D9G with a 3406 spacer that had 68,000 HARD hours on it and still ran like a new one.

I respectfully disagree, the 400 Cummins was the BEST engine ever put between the frame rails of a truck.

Yer talking about the 400 that comes in the semi's right?

I was talking about the 6.7 in the pickups. Sorry, shoulda specified.

Yes, the 400 that comes in the big trucks. The 6.7 is also a great engine, just have to remove all of that EPA garbage, that being said, I will stick with my good old 5.9 H.O.

My dad drove some 400 cummins diesels, unfortunately the ones he drove were never taken care of. I rode in one with him and you could hear it misfiring. Still pulled the load pretty good! His radio name should have been lead foot. He was Always at wot shifting through gears. lol Yeah, no doubt the 6.7 could be a great engine, but seems the good ol rattly, smokey, and torquey cummins I remember just ain't there.

To beat China you can look at another product or visit a different store, but beating the epa requires blood, sweat, tears, and tools.
Ah, now I see where you were headed....hell...my 64 GMC beats the hell outta the EPA every time I start it! :goofy:

If you're looking to place blame, the EPA is essentially our own doing. Allowing China to do this to us is kinda our fault, too.

The electronic carbs is the future for the manufactors, just rememeber how much information Husky/Stihl get through the data record.

They started with their pro saws, pros give valued feedback. When their system is tested out a few more years I belive the semi pro saws will be the next, later the low grade saws will get the same electronic system.

I'm not sure EPA mather much, the majority of citiziens has a different opinion then us living on the country side.
We need a tool to get the job done they want zero polution.
In a few years in Oslo oil stoves are forbidden, later wood stove will be forbidden, all heathing up the house will be by electricity.
