I experienced the same thing back then. Tried to send a new 661 to Brad in 2014. DHL and customs are extremely small with such things. Could explode because gasoline was in it before. Nonsense......

I had ferris written by PN at that time, when he tried to send the 462 to MMWS, say'd to him DHL/Custom can be a big problem in germany...unfortunately I was right

I only write „used chainsaw“.

Maybe the customs were not the Problem,
DHL returned it because it is a „dangerous good“ and they don’t fligh with that.

USPS Air Mail From Malaysia is pretty Reliable these days.

I’m sure they’d do it from Germany.

Heath as I understand it DHL is Germany's national postal service like USPS or Canada Post. Only their management saw the writing on the wall and turned themselves in to a worldwide parcel service as that is where the money not in domestic letter delivery.

I think someone should try from Sweden. I would do it but I spent my 462 $$ on a 661...

I believe USPS will ship from Germany.

Yes, DHL is Bureaucracy at its finest.

You should try being required to use DHL to send your passport to the land of Hammers & Sickles for a new VISA: it’s an experience I wish on No one.

How does USPS ship from a foreign land? Don't they just have reciprocal agreements with other national postal agencies? ie here I send via Canada Post and there it gets delivered by USPS .

This is an honest question with no malicious intent.

What happens if someone sends $1400, you buy the saw, then you can't get it to them? At that point, they're out $1400 with no saw. Can you return the saw?

Personally, I'd refund their money and eat it. What other option would be acceptable?

Another option is not to sell across an ocean no matter how well meaning your intentions are. Although I am confidant any saw I send to someone outside of Sweden would arrive at the destination border without problems, I cannot garauntee anything. I can't afford and don't need the headache of having to deal with something unforseen happening so 462's from me are NLA

Terrible!!!! That's a lot of money. I usually pay around 45-70 euros sending complete saws from greece to northern europe

I think you are reading me wrong. I didn't say how much money for anything. I spent the money I had put aside for a 462 on a 661 that was too good a deal to pass up.

I had the chance to use a 462 for a few tanks today.

Really impressed, strong, light speed throttle response, great power to weight ratio...

But it's still a Stihl, and my ported 562 feels still better in my hands, an produces less vibrations.

This 462 really run like a good ported saw, pretty amazing. Can't wait to try her big sister MS 500i!
