Well my excitement got the best of me. Here’s my advice based off my experience (394xp cylinder. Risked a lot and trusted my research lol)

1. 1 tbsp dish soap per liter of water
2. Set to 130° (55° Celsius)
3. Run for 10 min, flip, then another 10 min. Not sure if flipping helps but it makes me feel better
4. Immediately rinse it all and dry with a hairdryer on high until complete (I don’t have an answer yet for when your wife/girlfriend finds out)
5. Do it all again

Dawn dish soap won’t corrode or discolor the cylinders and does a pretty phenomenal job. I’ll add photos. I should’ve done more prep getting chunks off but I’ll own that one. I was impatient and just wanted to get it in

Which US did you get?
my little one is 20yrs old and about dead and the larger one, estate sale for cheap, doesn't work all that well.

I kind of cheat and dip the cleaning solution (Mostly simple green) out of the USC tank and nuke it hot. saves time and I have heard the heat part a the weak point Others say the drivers get weak.

The Central Machinery 6L from harbor freight. Had good reviews. Now we’re trying it out on her ring

As far as building a saw ,I have a 394xp in great condition and it's a fun saw to run!
I've never sweated the plastic parts for a cheap build .
Crank, cylinder, carb, piston, and case if salvagable ! I've built 2 066's out of scrap yards and they have aftermarket parts like covers, recoils, and fuel tanks.
If you want to build and run a 394xp, just get it done!

I can probably find someone to weld the 3rd clutch cover but I’m stumped on the first two

Yea, that 2nd one is missing a bit :p. If you have another that is broken but has that section intact you can make it work.
That said…finding someone to weld magnesium other than yourself or a cheap friend will not be cost effective. Just the rod is $150/#

I hadn’t looked that much into it. Definitely not then. I’ll just call it a crop top clutch cover
