I didn't think that plastic looked just right LOL.Thx for the correction @Woodwackr
That's the correct location for the rubber bumper. Yes, they are a bear car to start but run like the dickens when they do. Worth fixing right in my opinion.View attachment 445923

Got it.
We'll see if this guy wants to spend any money to make the saw right. It actually runs pretty well with the scored piston and 130 PSI compression. I can't imagine trying to start it with 180 PSI...

The "star" on the clutch drum has to fit in the oil pump worm gear corresponding receptacle. If askew it will do what you're experiencing.I'm assembling a 550xp mk1 from a recent build, and seem to be having some clutch trouble...
Doesn't seem to be free-spinning and I did grease the needle bearing. It looks like the drum is properly seated into the oiler worm gear, but once the clutch is locked down, there's no drum free-spin...
Revisiting the parts diagram, I don't see any sort of missing washer, but maybe y'all can give me some tips?
Yes, thats the rear upper dummy mount that just inserts into the non threaded pocketThis bumper rolled out of the 281 as I was cleaning it, any idea where it should go?

Yeah I dropped the drum into each 'star' indentation, and it never sunk quite low enough to clear the clutchThe "star" on the clutch drum has to fit in the oil pump worm gear corresponding receptacle. If askew it will do what you're experiencing.
I,m Wrong . Looked like the dummy av mountYes, thats the rear upper dummy mount that just inserts into the non threaded pocket
its factory ,and facilitates easier tank mounting task
Wow, that was quick!! Thanks! I was looking for a socket head at the store today, forgot they were hex heads, I may have to take another look. I was working on my 2100 today and realized I was missing some of the smaller M5 80 bolts that hold the body into the AV mounts, so went and got those.Damit…now I’ll have to go out and measure for you, lol…
Yes, thanks, that is what I meant!M6x1.0

42 or 242? I have one for a 42 that is SKView attachment 446997View attachment 446998View attachment 446999View attachment 447000View attachment 447001Can anyone identify this piston? 42mm MAHLE from a Husqvarna. I’m just not well versed in piston differences.
I thought 242 at first but it didn’t look exactly like anything I saw out there although very close.42 or 242? I have one for a 42 that is SK
Opinions?
562xpg, XS ported, scored but not bad from the pics (don’t have the saw yet)
I’m hoping just the piston and ring will need replacing. Question: strictly oe or is the Meteor a good one on this model?
Piston price is damn near that of the full top end kit for oe.
Pro faller’s saw
He has asked me to fix it. I'll know more when it gets here. Since it is a ported cylinder I'm hoping just the piston/ring will need replacing. if bearings are needed they will get replaced as well.My question would be, if the guy is a pro why doesn't he just fix the saw and keep using it? May be other things wrong with it on top of that. In any event it probably has alot of hours on it so may not be such a good deal even with you doing the repairs.
