Wow, yeah that is a safe bet! I was working on a 562xp. The first saw to beat me. Purge bulb would not cycle fuel when hooked up to the carb, but would when connected directly to the fuel line. I replaced the diaphragms in the carb, even used clear nail polish around the seams to block any potential air leaks and nothing, carb still makes a high pitch whistle when using the purge bulb. Yeah, there are a couple of others here at work that just hang on the wall. The guys say they get it running and works great, but if they shut it off, it vapor locks. They have other saws they use because they have to pack them in and need something more reliable. I have seen some videos of people fitting the saws with insulation/reflective tape and making a few choice holes in the shell to help vent the heat and prevent vapor lock. I have the go-ahead to get one of their saw set up that way.Just lovely

Oem should be marked. However, I don’t remember where they are located on those case halves and my 372 isn’t here to check.
Does the inside of the clutch cover list Husqvarna, made in Sweden or a part number? That might be an indicator of at least that part. Here are a couple of videos that may help you spot any issues:

What gave it away that it is AM and not OEM?
There was no model tag, which got me thinking, though oem replacment cases have no tags. The big giveaway was that there was no markings under the tank. Oem cases are marked with the huski logo, and "em original" under the gas tank.
I have a 455 and a 562xp and never any problems. I just wanted to say that I'm a new member today and I'm very happy so far, someone has already helped me. Other places I can't even get an answer so this is home now. I tore up my shoulder a couple of years ago and had surgery. My surgeon said it's one of the worst he'd ever seen. My 562 XP is just been sitting in the garage lonely. Since my surgeon said no more yanking chainsaws with the right arm I've been looking for a way to get it started with my left. I've been wondering about compression release mods lately and wow the first thing I saw on your site is a simple solution. I've been a machinist all my life and something like this is right up my alley. I just wanted to thank you all so much because a tremendous weight has been taken off my shoulders. Now I can get my saw going and move off grid. Many thanks to all.
Bummer about the shoulder issues, but I know many people that have not given up on running a chainsaw, even some guys in their 90s, some just have to move to a smaller saw.
Wow, that's just the coolest thing I've seen in quite a while. He maybe shouldn't have shown it on the internet and run straight to the patent attorney. But mainly thanks for the help. Again no other site has been willing to help or even give an answer. Even the site that advocates hard work honesty and kindness. Now I think that's just to get subscriber numbers up. But you guys are really nice folks, and I'm going to subscribe as soon as I figure out how. It would be wasted effort if you try to explain it to me because I just would not understand. I mentioned earlier that I'm going off grid soon. I'm mid-60s and don't ask for a specific number because I don't know. I had a lot of concussions when I was young. I raced dirt bikes for 20 years so there you go. But the help with the drilling of the compression release button, I think it's going to do the trick for me. If not I'll build a Kickstarter, but I'm going to get out of this city come hell or high water. The first 8 years of my life started out on a 40 Acre Farm in a town of a few hundred, and my dad moved us to the city because he found a great job. I was so pissed at him until I was about 18. Then I got it. Unfortunately I got stuck here, and I've hated it since the beginning. Now I have a little over 20 acres in the Smoky Mountains, and I'm looking forward to having a real life soon.
