So a buddy of mine got 2 husky 570's from a guy at a huge local tree service. Both runners with broken brake flags. Guess they just pitch um if something breAks the story goes. Tried finding threads on this site about the 570 but could not come up with anything. Just wondering if they wer good or if anyone had experience with them. personally ive not heard of a 570 so im throwin it out there.
Detuned small bore and low top version of the 575/576. Run decent.

Thanks for the input! I may be able to snag one for a Franklin with a 24" bar. Lil scratched and scuffed but otherwise the broken brake flag r in good shape. I will stay on top of this deal and hopefully ull see it in the SNAGS in the future!

IMG_6588.JPG IMG_6590.JPG IMG_6598.JPG I've got one I could use some help on.
I picked up a CL 359 project. Had the the original partion wall clip ( which was toast) and was advertised as having a new top end with 3 tanks through it.
I went through it on the way to replace the partion wall and put the metal band on and found that the p/c did look nearly mint. But also found the cylinder part number seemed to be for 361 to 372 series.
It's an 05'. It measures about 47mm. And has the Husky crown.
Is it possible that the higher cc cylinder would fit a 359?

Had this given to me today from a co worker, he said he retired it when I became low on compression, it's been sitting a long time and is locked up now.
Under the grime it's not bad, dirt and oil has a way of preserving paint and color.
When he told me it was well used I expected the worse, not bad at all for a freebie.20180710_160159.jpg 20180710_160217.jpg 20180710_160258.jpg 20180710_160314.jpg

No that’s a 359. The only cylinders that fit that chassis are the 357xp and 359. Unless your chainsaw Jim and mod a 272 cylinder to fit. Lol

Thanks, paint and plastics are in really good shape, I don't think this saw was ever cleaned, a diamond in the ruff.
Just hope now the internals are good.

Does that drum spin on the clutch or are they rusted together?

The clutch isn't rusted to the drum, however it does want to turn with it.
Good news after soaking with lots of CRC in the cylinder and gentle persuasion the engine turns over, both piston and cylinder are nice but there is some dirt or similar in there, I'll get the cylinder off tomorrow to clean and rinse out the crankcase.20180711_163731.jpg 20180711_163737.jpg

A little trick on unsticking that 281 .First find out how high the piston is stuck .If it's above the exhaust port fill the cylinder full of Kroil,PB blaster or some good penetrating oil and let it sit a while .If you can't shake it loose ,step two ..Take an old plug.knock the center out of it and braze a grease zert in it .Then use a grease gun filled with oil to move the piston .It will either come or bleed because the average grease gun is 5,000 PSI .

Thanks for the ideas, got it unstuck today, had the top of the cylinder full of CRC and a gentle force and it moved.

Seems like the whole family is buying cheap/name brand saws. My BIL just got a Husky 240. It should be just fine for his use, trimming trees and occasional storm damage. Anything to watch out for on these? Any known problems?

Tell him to take it back and get the one in Poulan colors and save a few bucks.

I have a Poulan 3516avx which related to it and after a MM TA and a tune it's a peppy saw. Oh and maybe grease the stud the recoil assembly rides on to I've seen some stick.
