ill have a loo at it tomoro and see if the adjusting screw up the top is there , not sure if it isBut no all joking aside I pitch one of my uncle's poulan because the brake band broke and parts were worth more than saw.
Start with degreaserwhats the best thing to clean all the plastics on the saw , looks like crap
Peter
saw cleaned up good Tony , just sorting out the brake now ,Start with degreaser
Then WD-40 and scotch bright or fine steel wool.
Failing that, Ebay

thanks Tony , if all else fails
im buying one of those Tony , mines missing parts
the top adjusting screw isnt there , any ideas about those china ones , quality wise i meanyeah and parts are a bugger to get
ill go take a pic of it for you TonyI used one on a 268 that I got from johno & Jono and it turned up faulty.
They sent me a replacement no questions asked and it worked perfectly
I have also used one on a 394 and it works fine
Do you have a picture of the missing bit, or where it goes anyway.
I will go have a dig in a box for you
heres some pics Tony , i tried to tighten the screw but i think some thing might be stripped as its not making any diffill go take a pic of it for you Tony
not sure tony as i havent pulled it apart , too bloody hot in the shed , ill pull it apart later tonight and see , let you know , thanks for looking and putting up the picsYeah those adjusters are unobtanium
I only have one on a complete 2100CD chain brake cover that I don't want to pull apart
Is the thread stripped in the bolt or on the little threaded rod it pulls up to adjust the brake band?
We may be able to make something from a bolt

and yes it leaks bar oil all over my bench
61 66 266 268 272 any of these fit
will see how we go firstYes, others from the series will fit, you could order a new style(plastic brake flag) either OEM or AM clutch cover with brake, if you're unable to mechanic yours into functioning again. I put an old style from a 272 on my 266. the AM ones from HL supply are really good as well. http://www.hlsproparts.com/Husqvarna-61-66-266-268-272-sprocket-cover-p/h60266.htm
