There are quite a few saws from this era that shared the 480CD chassis. I am not 100% on the model numbers but I will take a stab at it and @Spike60 can correct me where I have gone astray. 163, 263CD, 280, 380, 480CD and 285. It would be nice to know the differences between these saws since at a glance they all appear to be duplicates of each other.

I'm in the dark on the 263 and 163. I could probably go through some old books and see if the are related to rest

What I do know, is that the A77, L77, 180, 280, 380, and 480 are all related in that they all use the same top end. Went through an awful lot of changes. Ignitions, handles, tanks. All manner of ideas came and went as they were trying to take that saw from what is was to a modern design. At least as we'd understand it from the era we are talking about. The 480 benefited from all of that, but put on some weight in the process.

Couple shots of the senior member of the group. AM pistons are available for all these saws. Northwoods has some nice VEC pistons. And I think Lil Red Barn also has them. Likely the same piston in a LRB box. Whatever the box, they work fine.

I am in the process of restoring an A77 myself. There is one unique part on that saw that I don't think you will find on any other Husqvarna saw (except for the A65) - that would be the oil and fuel caps. They look similar to the standard caps, but they are fine thread. I managed to find one NOS one on feebay, but other than that they are just about unobtainium.

How did this work compared to 3/8? Did you run a 7 or 8 pin rim? I just built a 560XPG running an 8 pin .325, and it's pretty quick and super smooth. Also love my 2150/346 with that set up.

Because of the added number of cutters compared to 3/8 chain I decided to go with a 7 pin 325 sprocket. Chain is 105 dl so alot of cutters to sharpen, maybe I change the bartip to 3/8 later.
I ran 24" 3/8 on this powerhead before, square filed and I liked it alot, I may go back to that, lighter and nimbler.

Rotary makes .325 Skip under their Copperhead name, part number 7325002, it's hard to get though.

Wouldnt be worth the hassel, I think the best option is run what I can buy over the counter.
Skip chain is very hard to find in Sweden.

Wow, I never noticed that in the Rotary catalog. Course, I never bought their chain to begin with.

Never gave thought to the larger amount of cutters on a long chain like that. I'd think the narrower kerf would be an equalizer there to some degree.
