I thought the case reinforcement was added after the first run of 592xp's came out? Because of the spike breaking that corner off.
I could be wrong or the case side could have been replaced?
No case replacement. Maybe I should have said fairly early, instead of one of the first. It's SKU number 970493100 and Husqvarna lists the oldest at 970493132
All I can remember is it wasn't a terribly long spell after the introduction it was purchased. What that was exactly I can't recall.

Mines an early first year production without the added webbing on the bar mount. That’s not been an issue but I don’t use it as a pry bar to pry my face cut out either. Use a dam axe or finish cutting it so it’ll fall out

Been great, probably my all time favorite. Muffler did start cracking from the corner of my muffler mod after I tried welding deflector on. Replaced it with exile muffler that I like much better. Mine also came with updated purge bulb line, reinforced dog mount, and intake boot though.

The AV on the right is very nimble like a wet noodle compared to its counterpart on the left. These are two different parts with two different ways of attachment. Swapping for a stiffer one isn't an option.

Thanks for posting this. Something I can plan for over time with my 592, especially when it’s subzero….seems everything breaks when it gets that cold. I believe the fitting for the dampers are more robust for the part ending in 901. The softer one seems to have a much smaller end that fits into the bottom of the airbox so stands to reason it would be weaker and also likely to fail more quickly. Probably only solution is to have spares on hand and routinely check and replace after a few years or once you feel they’ve soften too much.

On the intake boot, JRHAWK9 is correct. See attached for IPL directly from Husqvarna’s current online system. There is a more expensive intake pipe, and Husky’s IPL clearly indicates it is specifically for winter use. Sucks you had to go through this….the fix won’t be cheap….but they are still great saws.

Assuming you have the XP, not the XPG. The winter boot comes with the XPG. Also, looks like they updated the screw on the muffler cover, although I don’t know if that was the source of the problem you describe.

Yeah, it looks like the hole in the partition is for the rubber damper that the previous version ignition wires passed through. I’m sure that’s a non critical update and don’t see why the old partition couldn’t be used with any of the intake boots, but then again I’ve not actually replaced any of those parts yet so I could be dead wrong on that. I wish they made better IPL updates to explain things to saw owners…..but maybe they do and just keep them tight to the vest and only allow official service dealers access to them. Good luck with your repairs……real bummer when I saw as good as that goes down.

Keeping a serious stock of parts also seems to be coming to an end, if a customer needs a boot to the flagship model, delivery time can be monthly. Embarrassing!

The 901 one works on the heated model, I put it on mine. Only one I found in stock
I purchased the last two an outfit in New Hamshire had, if it wasn't for that, these two saws would be sitting here until they weren't needed anymore, as Husqvarna doesn't have any.

Sadly, sans the expletives, he's not wrong on his assessment of Husqvarna's "new normal". :(

Husqvarna here is a minimum of 6mos out for any parts. It is so bad that the main dealer/seller here, D&B, has threatened to drop the entire Husq. line from all their stores.
Husqvarna doesn't seem to care.
