The prices in Norway and Sweden are very high compared to the US.
But the 564 is priced around 572.
If there is no difference in the US, what the 572 costs is probably what you should expect the 564 to cost, and maybe between 572 and 592.

PS, before it lands in the US it may happen that it comes with a tariff!

This is the price with tax (VAT) and for the version with heated handles. When you recalculate the prices w/o VAT in Norway of the so-equipped 400.1 and 500i you get that the (list) price of the 564 is about 16% higher than the 400.1, and 18% lower than the 500i.

564 XP-G: $1588.78
400 C-M VW: $1373.58
500i W: $1874.08

In Norway we pay 25% VAT on almost everything, it doesnt mather what item it is or where it was made, it's probably only some food items that have half VAT, the rest, even office work is 25% VAT.

I operate with prices including VAT since that's what I have to pay.
It should be said, however, that I probably get a little discount since I'm a good customer up in Evje.

This is generally the case everywhere in Europe for the consumer. In the States, on the other hand, prices are quoted without taxes, which you may pay at checkout.
Therefore, to compare prices you have to subtract VAT.
Of course, when in the EU you buy for a company, to put it simply, this VAT is deductible. The same applies to exports outside the EU.

Of course, this is the case everywhere. Usually at a dealer you can have a price up to 25% below the list price for expensive equipment. The absolute profit ("retail price" minus "dealer price") is still large for such expensive machines.
EDIT:
The gist of my post was that the price of 564 sits between that of 400.1 and 500i.

I understand what you are saying.
From a purely business perspective, VAT is not paid on purchases of goods, but on sales to customers, the business collects VAT on behalf of the state.

But, if I were to cut a lot of wood in my forest, and deliver timber for over $5,000, I would fall under the VAT system. That is, then what I buy would be VAT exempt, while I would pay tax on the income, and when I sell timber I would be paid without VAT.

PS, most stores in Europe operate with prices including VAT.

And yes, the 564 will be priced between 400.1 and 500, in Husqvarna it will be close to 572, so significantly above the 562 mk II's price.
I think, however, the 562 mk II will be of the short production run

445S and 450S specifications are out: https://www-static-nw.husqvarna.com...3/doc000259029/OM/7YK3haSdYI02QPIA8pDVsfv3XD0
450X and 564XP not yet....

Does anyone know the meaning of "SA"? (The other designations are clear: TL Tool-Less, TB Trio-Brake.) I see no difference between models 445S/450S and 445S SA/450S SA.

My guess is that they changed the designation of the starter with the extra spring ("easy start") from ‘e’ to ‘SA’. E.g., instead of 445e II there is 445S SA. Maybe SA=Spring Assist?

EDIT: Confirmed.

Also, as you can see in this new manual, for some time now they have started to give the vibration levels for the different chains provided for a given model of chainsaw. As expected, because of the aggressive factory grind, the X-Cut chains have these values higher than the chains sourced from Oregon.
