It doesnt matter where the saw was purchased, dealers should handle support (warranty, repairs, etc.) simply based on the fact that they are an authorized dealer. If not, there's no reason to support that specific business.
I don't think either of my local businesses wants to do anything above and beyond selling you a new saw, a six pack of mix and a jug of bar oil. All at msrp, of course.

They will fix your saw but it will be the last o e fixed and I don’t blame them. If your primary concern is saving a little money the warranty doesn’t concern you that much.

All my Husqvarna purchases have come down to online at this point. All 3 local stores have went Echo and Stihl unfortunately. Probably take a few months to get the 564xp serviced if warranty was needed. Sucks but Husky has pulled out of Central Florida almost entirely it seems. Crazy with all the storms the last few year's...
Or if warranty is a concern just buy an available brand not like all 3 aren’t real close to each other is most respects.

That's pretty poor business given the money is made on service and not sales.

Well I’ll guarantee if the guy is a long standing customer that buys equipment fairly regularly and yours is a Lowe’s or internet saw and you and him bring a saw in on the same day I’ll lay odds yours is behind the guy who buys equipment from that dealer. If you think that’s a poor business practice then that’s your right but while it’s not a ton of money on sales they still make some on it and if the guys in there all the time buying oil and chains instead of purchasing it all off the internet as cheap as he can get it like the saw it’s a better plan for the shop owner to keep the constant customer happy. But yes if your a dealer for that brand no reason to turn it away but I don’t blame them for putting the guy that’s in all the time buying stuff first.

I am well aware of the reality of the situation.

In our country, Husqvarna has the best dealer network.
Most dealers have mechanics.
Unfortunately, the same does not apply to Stihl, in my town there are two Stihl dealers, one is an agricultural shop where they do not do much chainsaw repair, while the other is a bicycle dealer. In fact, I think the bicycle shop has more knowledge of chainsaws. But the agricultural shop is good at having almost all the Stihl chainsaws.
Echo has never had a dealer network in Norway, there is an importer but not many stores.

When Husqvarna chose to dump Jonsered to the hardware stores, most Husqvarna dealers chose not to take warranty work on Jonsered. I know that Husqvarna asked several ex Jonsered dealers if they could.

While some models maybe closer than other's. Stihl has the worst warranty and a hefty price tag compared to Husqvarna. My guys personally like the way Husqvarna Xp model start in Florida heat and feel in the hands better.

Having mostly run Husqy, a few older Stihl, and a 261, I have to agree on the handling. The right-side handlebar bend is more pronounced/angled on Husqy than Stihl, allowing for more maneuverability, IMO. The older Stihl handles aren't quite like the newer ones, and also handle pretty well. Limbing with the 261 is not as smooth for me, especially when limbing overhead.
