This saw had its squish band cut, pop up turned on the piston, and .070 removed from base. It has a LOT of compression. When the squish isn't to tight, a simple base gasket delete, and strato timing change gives really good results. The compression increase and lower exhaust gave this saw a much wider happy range than those that only have a gasket delete.
Do u change that strato timing on the piston window top edge? I took about 2° off the top edge of my piston window on the 550xp

I can't say it is the most impressive ported saw I own (because my 346's are amazing!), but my WWS 562 is a great runner, great torque, and reliable, but it miss the chain speed of my 346 's.

Randy will build me another 562, I can't wait to try it!

This thread is another example of why I love this place so much. A saw builder starts a thread praising the work of another builder. Names of 5 or 6 builders get mentioned / talked about and no one is arguing, fighting or getting butt hurt.

Thats because we all respect each other. All of these guys build some damn fast saws. I've learned a lot since this site started......I guess you could say I've been schooled. lol

I'd like to thank all the guys that build saws for being a part of this place. Thanks for sharing your ideas and experience with us all.

Yes, grind the piston at the top of the strato tunnel. I would normally prefer to grind the port, but after dropping the jug, there isn't enough room without causing a freeport. These 562s have between 3 and 7 degree difference in timing.

I'd like to see a 'well' ported 357 against a well ported 562.

I ported my 357 so it isn't 'well' ported... lol
357's can really scoot, but I'd probably give the nod to the 562.
Of course I have been wrong before, and will be in the future.

Compare it in what way ?

In smaller wood the displacement advantage is useless , like any tool its built for a purpose..and it shines in its intended purpose.
That is a very true statement! I was cutting Friday with my Tree Monkey 2152 and the other guy had a stock 372 and I was out cutting him in smaller stuff the whole time. He couldn't believe it was only a 50cc saw! He asked if it had a turbo or something on it.... Lol

Did you tell him that it certainly did have a turbo on it? Small shot of NOS too, just to cool the boosted charge.

Lol! Yea I told him it didn't have a turbo but wasn't stock either! I was running .325-18" bar on it with 8 tooth sprocket and it is fast in anything under 6-8" wood, not so much buried in anything bigger, the look on his face when I told him it was only 50ccs was hilarious
