I want a little husky.
I have zero knowledge about these things was wondering the pros and cons about them. Is there a full wrap available?
Thanks

I think boss monkey had a wrap made up, but there's no stock options. I've wondered about the smaller Huskies too, but my budget is more 3-series than 5-series. Plus, I think you can bolt a 357 wrap on a 350/346.

I recently bought a 545 to replace a worn out 460 rancher, I like it much better than the rancher, lighter, handles better and i think it makes more power. I really like it, I am not a pro I just cut firewood

i have been searching for a wrap handle as well, I havent seen one yet, but maybe a modified 562 handle could be made to fit? this winter I will probably order one and see what I can do.

545 and 550 have the same displacement, right? I run a 24" on my muffler modded 550 for reach. 24" full comp pushes the limit of what torque the 550 has.

545’s are good saws. I even had a couple mk1’s I was quite fond of. Think I still have one new in the box here somewhere lol.

545 Mk ii is a 550 without crank stuffers, but with the Smart start system. Makes a tad less power. Weighs and feels about the same. Cost quite a bit less.

Does the 545 have smaller transfer caps compared to the 550 like the 555 vs 562 does? I’m not certain I have ever ported a 545

Ported 545 vs ported 550 is very very similar.

But are down on power to begin with.

Why? What ignition timing, or port timing/area differences are there? Or are the stuffers and transfer caps the only difference? Do you compensate the port work for no stuffers, or use no stuffers to your advantage?

I'm sure it is a combination of all of those things. I ported it very similar to the 550 and the results came out very close.

If a port job is in store maybe better to put that extra savings of the 545 into the port job. As stated very similar once ported. Unless your caught up in the nameplate.
