No tombstone ever read "here lies a great worker " gotta take time and enjoy the little things, life is to short, find happiness in what you can, if that means posting less and spending time w family, then that's an easy decision to me.
My Uncle, who taught me to hunt, said something similar. "No one on their death bed ever says I wish I had more time to work".
Life is a balance, and the length of it is unknown. Work hard, play hard, plan for the future but also enjoy the moment.
I once heard something at a seminar that really stuck with me ... "Most people don't have plans that fail, but instead have a failure to plan".
Some of my plans are short term, some are much longer term. As I get older, fortunately, some of my longer term plans are paying dividends!
My upstate property has become a "treasured get away" during this never ending Covid crisis, for my kids, grandkids and kids spouses. Hiking, ATV riding, shooting, etc are all freedoms that are more difficult to do at home.
My 12 year old Grandson just got back from Boy Scout camp up in the Adirondacks. He won the archery competition. I bought them both bows and arrows a few years ago, and take them shooting (at the Fish and Game club) several times a year.
I have a real nice, fairly new F-150 PU Truck, but when I ask the Grandson's (12 + 14) if they want me to pick them up in the Truck or the Mustang, without hesitation they blurt out "Mustang"! Kinda makes me feel good!
