Most down here are dead, but up at my property (NW Catskills) most of them are still alive and seem to be doing well.

This one was at my Brother's house in Carmel NY and was dead, but a good size!

It helped to heat my Daughter's house this year.

(My pics won't load???)

Here are the pics I could not load before (a big dead Ash in Carmel NY).

Seems to be a long delay in uploading pics.

Nice, did you leave a high stump for an excavator to take out or something? I always cut em at the ground unless they’re going to be dug out

Various fences had been tacked to this thing over the years and I just tried to find a place w/o metal to drop it.

Ended up hitting some metal on the far side of one of the rounds, but luckily we had cut quite a bit before that happened, and we finished bucking it all the next time w/o hitting anything else, so it could have been worse.

Did not think it was worth hitting more metal to lower the stump, it is way in the back and won't bother anyone. They can use it as a table.

Yup and some of it still alive too surprisingly.
There are a few alive here in the city that they sprayed, and I've found a few smaller 5-6" trees that must have been resistant because there were plenty of dead trees all around them. My buddy wanted me to take one out that was at his cottage, I explained what it was and he left it. I told him he should probably spray it as there was some damage on it, not sure if it will make it or not, but it was very healthy overal.

Nice! What’s all done to that one ?
Gasket delete (squish .020), widened exhaust, staggered upper transfers by slanting the roof with exhaust side opening first, intake roof raised a touch, cleaned up casting flash, muffler gutted with welded on deflector and larger mesh spark screen, intake baffle gutted out of intake manifold and carb shafts thinned. I got about 15-16% over a muffler mod with this stuff. If I had machine work done to it to raise the compression I would probably get another 5-10%. I like to test gain over a muffler modded stock saw because it gives me a idea of what the porting actually did for the saw. Some guys count the muffler mod into the total gain but that’s a bit unrealistic imho. The 572 performance is very good stock with a muffler mod imho.

Those are good gains. It sounds good, looks to run real nice. What’s a muff mod 10-15%?

I think so, was something like 5-10% can’t remember exactly how much. In bigger wood the difference is more noticeable. I do notice a difference with the larger weave spark screen vs the stock one in a modded muffler so the screen is definitely a restriction in itself too. I’d actually leave it out completely if I wasn’t cutting on state property. Stock looking as possible for me is better.

Forgot to mention I gutted the fuel tank vent too.
