Yep, quite a distance to take up to make it work. A 2100 crank would surely help. Fun build.

Oh yeah a 2100 crank would be awesome. And tanks. Its gonna be a while before its done but its getting done up right and everything is gonna be very thoroughly planned out:D

So the 288 has more of it’s stroke in the case and the 394 more stroke out of the case… interesting considering they use the same crank. Deck height must be quite different on the cases.

How much u think needs to come off the case? I've decked a bunch of cases ;)
Well geez thanks Matt:). I dont know exactly but right Im guessing around .200”. Ill do more measuring and stuffs this weekend and Its gonna be a while before my 281 gets stripped down though.

An idea... why not use a 395 head.... maybe even a 58mm big bore aftermarket head. They are much more readily available than 394 heads. Maybe the intake block would be more desireable....maybe not. Maybe the 395 boot would easier to work the intake tract. Just a thought.

Dats exactly what I was goin for but I only have a 394 cylinder to go off of at the moment:). I imagine base dimensions on a 395 cylinder are identical to a 394 cylinder.
