That's a nice added bones.
I think he’s officially out!! Nice big deer lots of meat there.Big old buck that needs out of the gene pool
I've got tang safety guns in .243, 270 and .308. The .308 and .243 shoot great. The .270, not so much. I haven't messed with it a lot but have yet to find a load that'll do better than 2.5" at 100 yds. The same ammo shoots into a little over an inch in my M77 wing safety gun.Very nice, those 77's and Hawkeyes are great rifles for sure. I've always been a fan of the old tang safety versions. Only complaint I've ever read about them is inconsistent accuracy on some of the older ones. Supposedly, Ruger used a couple of different barrel suppliers back in the day and some were subpar.
Tell the boy that was a good call getting him out of there. My boy shot this tonight

How's the leade and the muzzle crown look?I've got tang safety guns in .243, 270 and .308. The .308 and .243 shoot great. The .270, not so much. Have you tried both flat base and boat tails? My 77 MKII in .243 is dead-nuts with a flat base design, but only mediocre with BTs.I've tried 130gr & 140gr.
I've only tried BT bullets. That's what I shoot in the other .270 and they shoot well.Have you tried both flat base and boat tails? My 77 MKII in .243 is dead-nuts with a flat base design, but only mediocre with BTs.

How old you figure he was?
It’s the barrel...I've only tried BT bullets. That's what I shoot in the other .270 and they shoot well.
