I would think your carbine would do alot better than 2-4". I would try it off a bench rest on a calm day if possible, my M16 copy will easily do 2" at 100 off shooting sticks, and I am admittedly a poor marksman.
Nah
All the m4s I've shot are around 2"
Usually some times moa with premium or handload ammo.
The full-size 20" bushmaster my friend had would shoot sub moa with good ammo.

Of the few m4's I've shot, most shoot around a half inch. The trick seems to be a reasonably decent barrel (not necessarily match) a good trigger, and a free floating forend. Even my AR10 shoots 1/2" from a bench setup this way.

Anybody used or any have experience with these?
Pretty impressive ballistics, especially from a 3 inch barrel!
Stumbled upon a decent deal on them 25 qt per box.
74 cents a rd.;)
The test results are from Lucky Gunner @ https://www.luckygunner.com/labs/self-defense-ammo-ballistic-tests/#9mm
The 2nd is from Pocket Guns & Gear @ https://mousegunaddict.blogspot.com/p/ammo-tests.html

Hey Studs,
Just wanted to give the ones who didn't know it, Buffalo Bore has some pretty decent inventory currently.
I bought some +P 124 JHP's .
The 9MM +P OUTDOORSMAN 147gr. Hard Cast FN round is just plain STUPID!!! :mgwhore:
Probably hook up on some them for firewood trips deep in the thickets of Alabama just in case 2 legged or 4 legged critters decide they need a selfie with me!

They seem to have quite the reputation for dropping the burliest of forest dwelling beast.
Here are the 147 gr hard cast numbers from various 9mm guns:
➤ 1,088 fps ------ SIG P226 Elite - with 5-inch threaded barrel
➤ 1,116 fps ------ H&K USP Tactical - with 4.7-inch threaded barrel
➤ 1,096 fps ------ Browning Hi-Power - with 4.6-inch barrel
➤ 1,083 fps ------ Glock model 19 - with 4-inch barrel
➤ 1,089 fps ------ Walther P88 - with 4-inch barrel
➤ 1,021 fps ------ Ruger LC9 - with 3-inch barrel
➤ 1,024 fps ------ SIG P938 - with 2.9-inch barrel:monoloco:

Buffalo Bore is some bad ass ammo.
They push things right to the edge.

I load 4 grains HP-38 under an Arsenal Molds 134 grain LFP at 1.072 OAL. It clocks 1050 fps out of my Glock 19 and is very accurate. This bullet has a fairly long ogive so it doesn't take up too much case volume like alot of heavy 9mm bullets do.

That's a good looking bullet.
I shoot Cast Performance LWN and WFN bullets in my big bore revolvers.
Didn't know there were similar designs for use in autos.
I imagine at 1050fps, those hit pretty hard!
The .40 165gr WFN would be a sledge hammer in 10mm.

Never shot any critters with it, but this bullet penetrates quite well. I wouldn't hesitate to use it for defense against threats on two or four legs. As a bonus, it drops around .359 so you could use it in .38's and .357's as well. I size it to .358 and flare the cases with a Lyman M die, it chambers well in all my guns. Strangely, my new Ruger PC carbine doesn't like it so far, but that could change as the bore breaks in. I have it out for a trigger job right now so we shall see.

I remember you having issues in the Ruger. Jacketed bullets shot OK, cast, not so much.

It could be simply a matter of me getting used to the gun. We finally have some good shooting weather right now whereas previously I was shooting it with frozen fingers. My 'smith only charges $60.00 for a trigger job so I figure that would be a good idea as well.
