I have a question. How did you put the split in the mandrel and when turned down the spike did you turn the whole thing down or cut shoulder in it?

I turned it down, then parted it off at the length I needed.

The slot I cut with a hacksaw.

I used a 16 penny finish nail with the head cut off, chucked right up in my dremel. Cut a piece of duct tape about 1" wide, stuck half of it to the face of the emery cloth, around the nail, and onto the back of the emery cloth. The spinning of the mandrel tightens everything up, just need the tape to keep it from slipping when you start.

You can also stop by the local dollar store and pick up a wooden dowel for cheap. Chuck it in your cordless drill. Works great for those that don't have those fancy air tools.

MI GO BLUE!!!!
Funny story. I was one of those that was on the muritic acid for cleaning cylinders. After a month or so in the shop all of my tools rusted that were on my saw bench rusted out. This is a safer easier way to clean cylinders. Thanks again, Randy.

I've started using the 3M balls. More better.
what I love with this forum is how people try to help each other.
It's just awesome!!

I am not sure if I can get the 3M ball in Norway, else I have to go through Amazon, will check it tomorrow.
Right now I habe seversl red scotch pads left to use, is 2mm tolerance ideal or did you go tighter?

Just put them on an air angle grinder with the roloc tip or what ever it is called. Roloc disc pad holder actually.
