038, good call.[emoji106]
Correct. About 6 miles north of Harrison.
Start time is whenever volunteers arrive. Landowner will have coffee ready at sunrise or thereabouts.
Right now, I have my 3 plus 6-7 helpers. Will know as time gets closer if all of them will be there for sure.
Are we splitting the wood at the site of the tree, or are we bringing the wood to the stack site and splitting it there?
Well, today was a bit of a milestone. Pics tell it best.

Can we cut logs and tractor them up the hill a bit? I've got plenty of cable, chains and straps.Evening y'all. Sorry I've been absent - busy around here. Okay, I've talked to the family and we have two sites for the Charity Cut on the 16th. The first one has 8 or 10 3 foot diameter oaks that were blown down by a tornado three years ago. They seem to still be solid for the most part and should make quite a bit of wood.
The trick is, it's a little brushy to get to them. You have to drive on a bit of a slope and through some trees to get to them, but nothing that scares my old Dodge. A new, pretty truck might get spooked. For those who don't want to risk it there is a second site for the afternoon that all the trees are in a field.
I think the best plan of attack is to cut and split the 8-10 blow-downs and then move to the second site where there will be fried fish, fried chicken, fried venison, and whatever else we can find to batter and stick in hot grease. There will be lots of other fixins plus coffee, tea, etc...
I have a couple of pictures of the folks the wood is for. I'll try to post them in a bit.

2nd with highway tread ok, or 4wd type hills.Sorry, I should have explained that better. The trees are all up on a flat part of a field. Lots of room to turns several trucks with trailers around and position as needed. Plenty of elbow room. The sloping hill is just the path to get to the flat.
The down side is that restrooms will be rustic. Very rustic, as in, bring your own paper and don't be afraid to venture into the treeline.

Those are some honkers. If solid, that is a lot of wood.
