Its a great day to square bale hay! Always one of the hots days when we baled. Don't miss it at all. Looks like your setup to dump the bales on the ground.
Yup..
On the ground..
The boys get to pick em up on a share basis..
We'll see how many they can handle.
Lol.
When they graduate, we'll get an accumulator.

Good money in straw if you have a good market.
2 fold plan.
When you plant and fertilize for 90+ bushel wheat, you get crop residue you can't hardly plant through.
Combine half stalk, and remove the excess residue..
Sell it for 3-4 bucks a bale.
Win, win.

Dropped 1400 bales on the ground today..
It's officially "shined up"..
Time for a greasing and twine re-load.

Many more straw bales where those came from.

Is that a 2 or 3 whirlygig feederhouse baler?

I spent way too many hours riding behind a New Holland baler. We had to load the bales onto the wagon as we baled them. Sets of 5 so they wouldn't fall off on the hillsides. Pay was a penny per bale put in the barn for the day. Then, bale throwers came on the scene and no more riding on the wagons. But instead, we got sent up in the mow to stack bales neatly away on their side. Cut side up so they dried better and didn't burn the barn down.

Yeah, those were the days alright.

Morning everybody.
Son got to test drive his Bronco a couple of times yesterday. Did pretty good. Still have a couple of bugs to work out, though. But nothing engine related. He stomped into it to see what the turbos would do. He let off at 8lbs of boost. Spooked me pretty good.

Emptied the box into four groups. 3/8", LP, .325" and really long mmfferzz.

Only five loops dismissed out of hand as being junk.

I need more peg board hooks. Long ones. [emoji15]

Don't none of you guys buy a loop of chain until you check with me. Seriously!
[emoji6]

Figure four 3/8" x 20" loops in a small flat rate box makes it $2 or less for a serviceable chain.

Limited on .404" and 1/4" but hey.[emoji33]

Did you ever ride a sled?2x12s or whatever chained to the baler ,stack a few I forget how many on them. Then take a bar jab it in the ground and slide them off the boards, and start over. That was ah fun. Then pick up with truck or tractor with wagon.Hayen was about the only work around here for us.I never really liked it.It seamed like I was always in the barn.Penny a bale Cent and a half if you handled it twice.
