Did you ever ride a sled?2x12s or whatever chained to the baler ,stack a few I forget how many on them. Then take a bar jab it in the ground and slide them off the boards, and start over. That was ah fun. Then pick up with truck or tractor with wagon.Hayen was about the only work around here for us.I never really liked it.It seamed like I was always in the barn.Penny a bale Cent and a half if you handled it twice.

Bet that was a fun ride. Most I was paid was 10 cents. A guy I bale for was paying 15 I think, last year.

Morning everybody.
Time to go back home and go to bed.
:)

Third shift?

Morning midlanders!

Dog and I woke up at three. Both of us have geezer bladders.[emoji20]

Vet appointment at 1:40 today. Hurley has allergies and the doggie treats made her skin break out.

You got to read the label on Bones!

Never rode a sled. I have rode a wagon behind baler some. Mostly used a pop up loader with a '63 F600 or a24' trailer behind tractor. Did a lot of custom work last summer I put up around 28000 bales. Charged 40 cents kept 15 cents for expenses split 25 cents between 3 of us. If every thing was right could make 12 -15 $ hour that was in 84. When 2 a days came around they were a walk in the park. Used to tick the coach off I never went to summer conditioning. The good old days.

Back in the olden days, a few young fellows would pool their cash and buy a retired sixty passenger school bus. Strip off the body and make a 'hay hauler' out of it. Make the rounds of neighboring farms picking up square bales.

Way before the advent of the round bailer.

Building owner is converting to LED lighting. Tonight, last night, was replacing 3 tube trauffers, 2x4 foot fluorescent fixtures, in a critical space (main computer room). Only 25 fixtures, but can't be done during business hours.

After my boy got his drivers license I let him bring big bails from a field a few miles north of here.We had a 71 GMC 3/4 ton pickup. He said dad these bails are heavy, the front end is light,I said just be careful. One day I got home from work just as he came in with a bale.He said come here I wont to show you something, grabed the front tire and moved it back and forth. He said the front tires were just bouncing off the road all the way home.It took two or three tries to get it to turn corners.I told him not to say anything about it to his mom.

'Sharknado'? As in shark tornado?

I think I saw some of them at Hollywood casino by the Kansas speedway.

I'll give them a closer look next time we are down there.

I mostly ignore the Hollywood movie theme type slots. Payback is usually awful.[emoji107]

LP the only chain you got in box 2?
what you got left from box 1?

No. There was a 40% LP, 40% 3/8" an ten percent .325" mix.

Combination of boxes # 1&2 and what I had hanging on the pegboard to begin with came to forty LP.

If I kept every serviceable loop (safety, rocked, damaged drivers, etc.) there would be about eighty or more.[emoji33]
