I'm not to the point that I'm willing to let my fire go out just yet, but I'm down to just a couple small logs per load in the morning and eve. The air handler hasn't been running, but if nothing else, it keeps the water hot.

I remember them. Industrial duty 2 stroke. I've heard stories of high miles on these bikes. I rode 2 stroke Yamahas in the '70's and read my Tuner's handbook religiously. Bought a BMW in 81 and have been on them since and still have the handbook.

When I bought my 08 duramax I was getting 16-17 on the computer for mpg and that was not working for me. A few hours on the hoist and some money well spent the computer now reads 23-24 when cruising at 70 empty. That is more like it in my book. The one problem up here is the urea is it freezes so it can be a pita for some people

I think the new models have heaters in the DEF tank.

Morning everybody.
In 1972 Suzuki came out with three 3 cyl two stroke motorcycles. Probably in answer to Kawasaki's 500 triple.
Susuki GT380, GT550 and the GT750.
The first 2 were air cooled and the 750 was water cooled.
Interesting thing about them was the center exhaust pipe split under the bike to give 4 tail pipes. My first bike was a GT380. The stuff I did on that thing its a wonder I'm still alive today.

Wow, I almost got into the diesel discussion but erased it. I'll crawl back under my rock. :)

The fact that you don't drive one tells me something Steve.
Maybe the cost of operation is a bit higher than the non-diesel pick up's.
Maybe the extra pulling power is more of a luxury than a necessity?

I agree with Kenneth.
Now, don't get me wrong, I like diesels. Always have. Although I have never owned one there is a deffinet place for their use and there are ones who need the serious pulling power of one. I wouldn't mind having one but in all practicality it would be money ill spent on my part. I don't have anything big enough to pull to justify buying one. The biggest reason, though, that I don't have one is that when they break they get expensive fast. Ive been reading a lot of posts here about all the stuff that is done to them to get a lot more power and reliability out of them. But for my needs a 302 or a 351 will do what I want and work fine. A 460 would be better and I can work on those. I can't work on a diesel so I would be at the mercy of a repair shop. And that is something I just can't do.
I don't say this to make others angry at me. I enjoy reading and listening and asking questions to those that run diesels. That's how I learn and, maybe, just maybe, when I've learned enough I'll go buy one.
