The stihl bar in 18"x.325 runs 74 driver links. The Husky runs 72. If I bought 73 DL chains, once they stretched a bit, wouldn't they work on both bars?
Iam glad you brought this up as I have thought about trimming a 20" k095 bar to fit the 74dl chain. Haven't done it yet though.

I may just stay 16" 3/8". The DL count is the same from the Stihls to the Huskys so I can grab a 16" loop off of the rack and slip onto any saw. It's kind of nice not having to identify a group of chains for a specific saw. Everything bar length we have now (12, 14, 16, 20, 28, 36) fits on any bar in the inventory of that length... Makes it a lot less frustrating.

That what Iam trying to do now all my clammy poulans share stuff but having recently getting a husqvarna and now two mre I was wanting them to all run the .325 74dl chain as I have 9 loops of it for my ms290 so it might be worth my time to mod some bars.

MS440, 024, and 200t are the saws I take cutting. I really like my 2 024s but it seems like the 200t just blows them away. I bought the drum and rim to run Picco on my 024s instead of the .325 18" on them now. I just have to buy a bar and chain. I'm excited to see how much different it will cut.

I took the little 450 out today
Started it with my left hand
It worked ok for a couple cuts.
That .325 NK is smooth, and quick enough but it Sure don't feed like 3/8 lgx .
Run the bar buried in hard oak
I haven't tried the speed cut chain
Yet.
Speed cut chain is what?

I would think an 024 would be a candidate for performance mods.
Small, light, nimble.
Closed port, pro grade.
Turds from factory, but I think they have promise. Just a few minor mods may make them more of a go to grab.
