Nice oak log. Nice ones like that are not very plentiful around here...

Wish I had a way to load it somehow but the weight is too much for anything I have. Water was spraying out when I was splitting it. Loaded up what was already split in the yard and put it away in the barn to start drying out for maybe next burn season. I was cutting the rounds too thick, hard to split when you are making them 20" or so. Maybe 8 or 9 rounds left on that one log and several on the other that is there. It is where all the branches converged and I will just have to cut it into pieces to load. Probably have to use the splitter.

Mitigate cracks in the slab. If it does crack it should follow the cut lines and not be noticable.

Already almost 60° this morning. Paid day off for youngest girl's birthday, we will do lunch with my parents. Speed beef gun season starts tomorrow so I will go in the morning to keep away trespassers and probably go fishing in the late morning/afternoon with a friend.

It was 51° at 4:30 this morning, longest I stayed in bed in a long time. Looks like at the end of the week temps are going to start dropping again. Doing the vacation thing for the week of Thanksgiving, going to be a busy one.
