I’m also a terrible fisherman. Cobey and I met at Roaring River State Park one Saturday.
We were standing about 10 feet apart. In 15 minutes he caught his limit of 4 trout. In the same 15 minutes I lost $80 worth of lures to rock fish and tree bass. I hate those kind of fish.

I had a boat one time.
One time.
I discovered I’m not for boats. Don’t get me wrong, I like boat rides. I’m just a terrible driver. They don’t have brakes and I tend to hit things like docks.

Only time I fired up the motor last two outings was to load the boat, just used the trolling motor otherwise. I am only using jigs that I have poured and bobby garland bodies so if I lose a few it's not the end of the world. Buy my hooks by the thousand. I'm not a high price lure kind of person. Equipment on the other hand can be pricey, but I have some cheaper stuff for others to use. Easier if someone drops or breaks a $25 rod rather than a $100 one. Just got to be able to be an early riser to fish with me, launched Saturday at 5:30AM.

After thought, last time I fished at Roaring river I used orange powerbait worms and a small hook and split shot. Think I only caught about 15 or 20 or so. Now I am watching for those to go on sale since I don't want to spend $6 on the pack of worms.

I got to climb the leg to look things over & grease bearings.

It doesn’t look that high but the pucker factor was pretty high. Just don’t look down.

Chow was pretty tasty today.
Steak strips, glazed carrots & cherry pie. :p

It was sitting at 51° at 3:30 this morning. Looks to add about 15° to that and chance of wind and rain. Wondering what kind of stupid I will wander into today at work. Five days and then some time off. I think I should be able to get in about 3 or 4 mornings of water time in between fixing broken things and cutting up some wood.

This.
what are "granite plates" used for? I like those carts!
Gives a machinist (or anybody else) an absolute flat surface for doing high precision stuff.
Granite is used because it's totally stable, as opposed to most other materials.

When dad was working he would mention a father/son duo who would come in and resurface the plates with diamond hones. Larger surface plates than those, I believe 3x5 foot or larger. Had to be done every so often since they were rebuilding jet engines. I wonder if you have to spec out room temperature when figuring of the measurements. 🤔
I believe they did when he was running the Zeiss machine.
