G'afternoon, getting nuf rain to say we're having a bit of unpredicted rain. Don't know if it will amount to much. Creek won't come up as the ground will claim it all owell

Started cloudy and continued that way until early afternoon. Had the top on boat so dad and Calvin sat under it and fished when the sun decided to come out and stay. Nice day on the water was had.

Out of the whole “chance of rain” system we experienced, we got a total of 2.3”..
Now to see if it was enough to revive the grass.
Soybeans will respond quickly and any corn still green will put all of it to work within 2 days.
But once the grass goes crunchy, it usually takes multiple rain days and a period of cooler temps to get back into “grow mode”..

Sawed a bit of cedar today, needed a few more pieces for the porch build.
12' 4x6s and a few 2x4s, then a bunch of 1x for the stacks.

Sitting on my front porch I see teachers having meetings and getting their room ready for the start of school.

I feel sorry for the kids, starting classes and Labor Day not even here yet.

The stars(planets, I know) were in alignment this morning for an outing. Still was rather warm under the shade. One catfish got lucky one time but not the second. Never caught one with catfish teeth marks like this one. Have to be a decent sized fish to leave an almost straight line like that.

Drifting is lazy and lucky fishing. Friend who went with me had a catfish pick up the bait and then a gar swam into the line and got its mouth tangled. Got them both in and put the gar back unharmed. Made for a fun time.
