Anybody ever build a flat bed for your own truck?
Been thinking and nosing around online at designs.
How hard can it be? Not trying to build the Space Shuttle after all.
:)

I never have, but I definitely want to. I have a pickup box trailer I'd like to flat bed and my daily driver after that. I think the biggest issue I consistently see, is keeping the beds light enough, that it doesn't feel like you're constantly pulling a trailer.

Hey Workshop, you may find it is easier to just get a used one. That's what I did and then a few mod to get it where i want it.

Is that an 8 foot bed?

I had one on a truck 10 years ago that was pretty much the bottom of a box for a press unit that weighed close to 15,000 pounds. If you want it let me know because it's going to the scrap yard very soon.

Almost 1/2” here in Joetown. A bit more predicted for the day.

Hah! I’m getting better at screenshots.

Yeah, been thinking about all the possibilities. More than likely I’ll get a regular bed off marketplace here local. A guy has one for $125. Been seeing a few flatbeds for sale. Asking $800-1000 for them. I figure I could build a wooden flatbed for about $400.
That $125 bed looks better all the time.
