Gut that sucker and order a ChiCom carb .Here’s why I will never buy another echo; non adjusting carburetor with cat muffler. Won’t hardly run and gets so hot it melts the plastic

Tell me how to gut it. I’m not having any luck. I’m going to have to take it to a welding shop to get it welded back togetherGut that sucker and order a ChiCom carb .
It will rock then

I already cut my muffler in half and you see what happened to my drill bit.
I have gutted a couple of the mufflers 1 on mine and 1 on my son's and 2 or 3 on Echo 400 chainsaws I did not split any of them.I already cut my muffler in half and you see what happened to my drill bit
Maybe you can buy a non-cat muffler if gutting that one is too much of a PIA.This stuff is ridiculous; melted my drill bit!!!

What brand of drill bit did you use?
I did three of my Echo saws with a 1" hole saw. It took about one for each muffler as the cat really is hard stuff, as you encountered with your drill bits.Craftsman; probably only good for wood...I know nothing about drill bits.
I don't see any way to get this cat out without opening up the muffler, but I have no doubt you can do it
Spotted this old Sun machine last week while performing maintenance on an old freight drum machine.
These were the sh*t back when I was growing up.
