For you 3120 guys, what air filter system do you run? This 3120 is a huge disappointment. Still can't get it started and when I pulled the carb, there was sawdust fines on top of the diaphragm. I always read that Husky was far superior in the air filter system department, over Stihl, but that's not what I'm experiencing so far.

Ooof. So how far into the tree was it? 30 years would've made it several inches into the tree wouldn't it? That maple metal I hit was 8 rings in from the outside.
About 6 inches, milling an old tree 4 years ago, pleasant memories hang around, right?

A little grease on the sealing surfaces helps that a lot. Dont think husky put a whole lot of effort into that air filter setup, beyond wedging the big carb in there and workin around that

Thanks! I'll give that a try, once I get it going again. I got it to pop about 4 times earlier, after I did a quick carb clean, and then it died when I touched the trigger, but then the plug was soaked again and nothing. I read these things run rich, but dang. Either my right arm is going to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger's in 77, or I'm going to need shoulder surgery, from pulling on this thing, not sure which yet. Lol

Is there an aftermarket filter system, like a K&N set up, or max-flo?

I'd heard there was a guy, Red Beard, or something like that, that's supposed to have something like that, but I didn't see anything when I looked at the site. Where I'm going to use it mostly milling, I think it would be a good idea. If normal crosscut tree dust is getting in the carb, then milling would give me nothing but issues.
