What are you going to use those Hackberry beams for?

Seating at a wedding...
Then they’ll just use it to patch *s-word here and there I’d guess..
The dark wood pulls hard from the white..

I think quarter sawing the white for lumber and taking the heart out in one section might be best.

10-12 yrs ago l logged alot of hackberry. The mill was sawing it 2" thick and shipping to Saudi Arabia. They would cover it in the desert for a couple weeks to dry it and then build with it.

No reason it wouldn’t work.
It’s either that, or pallet wood..
I think the younger /smaller stuff is way more efficient to mill the way you want to keep its integrity..

I’m starting to understand the whole quarter sawing idea, but some logs just don’t cooperate!!!

Back when it was fixing to get real cold, Levi made the dogs a small condo out of straw bales on the front porch..
I told him yesterday that *s-word had to go...

So he sent me this yesterday when he hauled em off..

Yea we don’t need any more rain either. Bid this job yesterday and took my 450 case down the see how it was. Dang thing sunk halfway up the tracks. It’s gonna have to dry up quite a bit. Farmer cleaned out the drainage ditch around this field now needs the dirt pushed and leveled into the field.
