Saturday we got 6 bass transferred into the new pond, and cast netted some small bluegill and shiners to seed it with.. need a bunch more, but ran outta time.. had to do some cooking. Broke out the old offset firebox smoker and made pork butts.

Not convenient like the electric one, but I think it makes a better tasting pulled pork.

I have a "nuttier than a fruitcake MIL" too. My wife banned her from Thanksgiving dinner, not the first time either. I told my wife to give me the word and I will ban her for life. It's sad, because it doesn't have to be that way, and it shouldn't.

My former MIL was the kind that you’d tell stories about too. Cold and nasty. Lots of arguments with her.

MIL for the last 25 yrs is so great that we son in laws argue over who is her favorite!
I think I am, because at 99 years old she still makes oatmeal raisin cookies and brownies with no nuts in them just for me.
Always fun, even at 95, she made a REAL sponge cake with frosting on it, and got the birthday guest to try cutting it at his birthday party! He tried to be polite and then she handed him a toy saw to cut with.
I’m lucky this time around.
