That's one of the reasons I gave up on reloading. Factory ammo has come such a long way, as far as being very accurate across many different types of guns. Sub MOA is not too bad at all for a stock rifle and ammo!
Thus my simplification of choices...

I can make anything shoot decent with handloads.

What works good with cheap factory offerings??

That’s what I went with.

I voted in the election today.

For Buchanan County sheriff I voted for Sarah Hardin. I wrote my daughter’s name in the blank space. [emoji48]. Why not!!

Looked around the garage for some steel flat stock. About 16-18 gauge x 1-1 1/2 w x 6” long.

Find a nice looking piece to splice the 460 handle crack.

Shiny, non magnetic and hard as the hinges of hell.

[emoji90]

Looking some more.

Stainless?
Stainless takes a lot of tool pressure to drill, and can't be allowed to heat up, or it will harden right under your drill, and is then nearly impossible to finish the hole.

This MS362 is another fishy deal from Jack Horners?

Besides the compression being top notch, the carcass is relatively clean showing minimal wear for a ten year old saw. DOM 03.10

Witness the spur drum wear.

Discarded for trivial problems? WTH ?

Do you get your saw carcasses from a local dealer? I tried that several years ago around here with no luck.

Morning midlanders!

Yes, from Jack Horners Supply.

I’ve built up a rapport with the guys over the past ten years. Going to them for Stihl parts.

They store carcasses in a loft over the repair shop. Been up there a few times searching for parts and most times carry away whatever has it attached.

Once I needed a comp release and carried off a roached & robbed MS461 because no new release was in stock. $10 [emoji106]

They clean out the mess ever so often, so if I hit it right, I get a windfall. Along with crap I later put in the trash.

Anyone looking for a NOS 011/012 chain brake? They were making shelf space. [emoji6]

Last time was the 029 Super needing a fuel filter and line. $40

Along with a 362 for free. Jury is still out. Over speeds (sucking air or throttle jammed).

Drill press plus cutting oil.

The problem my design requires a slot and I’m making slow progress on that with a cutoff disc(s) in my Dremel. [emoji2959]
