Not a fan of 7mag?? Why ?? For many years it was the only counter sniper round used to protect the President...

I have 2 ,, one shot a 3 shot group of .226 the 1st load i tried..

The other is a 1980 Remington 700 bdl , the 1st load tried shot .328 inch 3 shot group...

That is in standard weight sporter bone stock rifles..

Guys that right there is damn tough to beat ..

I know guys that spend thousands of dollars to get a rifle to shoot that well ..

The 6.5 was a cheap toy . I'll see what it does.

Man can't have to many weapons these crazy days

Never was a fan of the belted magnums..
I agree on the 7mm-08 though..
Very inherently accurate round..
The creedmore is also inherently accurate
As is the 6.5 Grendel..

You know gun guys, always looking for something new and exciting.. I used to be one.. lol

I’ve simplified over the years..

This MS362 is another fishy deal from Jack Horners?

Besides the compression being top notch, the carcass is relatively clean showing minimal wear for a ten year old saw. DOM 03.10

Witness the spur drum wear.

Discarded for trivial problems? WTH ?

Strange seeing a pro saw with a spur.

I’d take a 6BR for competition shooting

But hey.. the 6.5 is good too..

All that conceded.. I shoot a .270 Winchester..
and would stack it up against any challenger..
Old school calibers are fun.

For competition, if I was reloading, yeah, I'd do a 6mm something as well. I run 6.5 CM because of ballistics, ammo availability and a bit better barrel life than the 6mm rounds. I like .270. I also like .308 and .25-06 and others as well. I'm not a firearms collector per se, so I tend to stick to a few calibers, so I can keep up on ammo stock better. Oddball calibers have no place with me anymore. Been there, done that.

Especially the past 15-20 years. There's been so many new rounds introduced, it would take Doc Brown to find out which ones will still be around and supported in 10-20 years. I gave 6.5 CM a long time, before I got one. I wanted to know it was going to stay around before I started buying into it.

Measures. .738 .

With factory load , I can normally cut a group in half with hand load, stock work and trigger work ..
That might be .500 moa rifle when I get done ..

Looking at a Magpul stock system, but it weighs 3.3 lbs

That's one of the reasons I gave up on reloading. Factory ammo has come such a long way, as far as being very accurate across many different types of guns. Sub MOA is not too bad at all for a stock rifle and ammo!
