Question for yall
When delting gasket how long you let yamabond set before joining pieces
Got two i strongly suspect a hole in the yamabond cause they exhibit symptoms of air leak even though new seals were installed (carefully)

I put a thin layer on case and cylinder and assemble let it set for 24 hours haven't had it fail yet.

Thanks for response guys. Been using yamabond, motoseal under a different name, and have deleted gasket on around 10-15 saws. Have been assembling immediately. Just been lucky i guess. Gonna take the poulan 4000 and the oly 254 (not the one from you carl) down and try again.

I use Yamabond and clean the parts first with acetone or mineral spirits. Assemble and let it alone for at least 24 hrs. No worries then.

So is the consensus to assemble and let it sit for a day before using OR put sealant on, let it sit a day, then assemble?
Guess im a little dense.

Going to cut things off at noon. Too hot and sticky.

My 'loss leader' C'list chain add paid off. Fellow wants all the .325 x .050 and a look at the Echo 340. Also one of my many 60cc x 20" gems.[emoji6]

Hmmm, might need to empty a suitcase. I can always buy more clothes. [emoji39]
