Idiot neighbors decided to burn trash on a windy day with a burn ban. Stupid people should not breed.

We found out half way through morning worship service and ran home to help. The boys and I changed clothes at lightning speed while my wife and youngest daughter filled water buckets and located our fire fighting gear.

Here is Mason with his specialized grass fire equipment:

Hey Hedge,

Mason ran the little 211 this afternoon doing some noodling. We put about a tank through it and it has a faster throttle response and more grunt. Apparently your mods and running Levi's saw really had an impact. He's been quizzing me about what Levi did to his saw to get it cutting so strong/fast. I believe the hook is set, just gotta reel him in now.

Thanks for taking the time to do that. It was a good day all around. One of the best parts was letting Mason see that men can work without being vulgar or petty. I didn't hear a single &^%$#@ all day, except for the ones banging around in my head while I was trying to get my splitter running. :BangHead:

Sorry - for those who weren't there - Hedgerow advanced the timing on an MS211 that Mason built. It was built out of two scrap saws from the local Stihl dealer. Hedgerow did the mod on the bed of his truck with improvised tools, an audience and some tools from Workshop. That was where Workshop left his Snap On tool bag. (Snicker, snicker, hee, hee)

Very nice group! A couple of "wanderers" here and there are nothing to worry about. Good, consistent grouping is critical.

Either your sights are off or you are putting your finger too far into the trigger guard. The trigger should rest in the middle of the pad of your finger. If you squeeze the trigger with the very tip of your finger you will group left. Squeeze on or close to the crease of the first knuckle will cause you to pull right. Middle of the pad will group in the 10 ring.

What kind of handgun?
Keep in mind, I'm left handed too.
Beretta PX4 Storm, full size. 9mm.
I found out today I'm right eye dominate. Never knew that and have always shot with my left eye.
Probably a good thing because I can't hardly see with my left eye anymore. New glasses would help, though. I really liked the course, good bunch of people there and the instructor had a way of explaining it to where I understood very well. I really like the feel of the gun, just need more shooting time.

5 yards, concealed carry qualifying is 7 yards. I think the range is 25 yards. At that distance I'd need a scope to see. :risas3:

Last figures I saw reported 80% of all armed confrontations occurred with the shooters less than 6 feet apart. More than that and you have room for other options. The trouble with concealed carry is in order for it to be concealed it has to be diminutive. You can only have so much fire power when concealment is an issue. The best compromise I ever found was a Smith and Wesson 5 shot .38 caliber revolver and a speed loader. Call me a dinosaur, but I'll take a revolver in most cases.

Took my beginners handgun safety course today. Not bad for an old fart and haven't fired a hand gun in at least 20 years.
Looks good Steve!
Tammi and I were there Saturday. Put 200 rounds through 7 of their rentals. Have a better idea of what we want/need now.

Just my 2 cents, but that southpaw with a right dominant eye combination is manageable. Like so many things, it just takes practice. Having a handgun with which you feel comfortable is a high priority. The best handgun in the world is hard to shoot accurately if it feels clumsy. I'm no big fan of the 9mm, but if you feel comfortable handling the weapon it should serve you very well.

For me 38 or 357 works, but have
To find target and fire or it gets heavy

This is a pic of it with the wringer on it. It is a 7 gallon capacity wringer washing machine with a pump and mechanical agitator. Found it in the scrap and thought it would fantastic for rags in the shop. It is from the late forty's.

That is cool, my dad had one of the old round washers with the ringer that we used for rags/towels at his old car lot. I detailed many a car out of that old washer.
