I rather like a 4 door shortbed. Especially when on the 32'.

Short bed is useful to the crowd I work with. Truck big enough to pull a 5th wheel and still able to park it. The lot at the last plant the guys with dually and 4 door long-established were literally walking over a half mile to the gate.

Yeah. I get where you're both coming from now. Like I said, I've never owned a diesel. I don't have anything to haul either. I just cut and haul wood back to the house. An 8' bed is perfect for me, but I can see the other side now too. Different trucks for different work.

Go find an old IEL or Homelite Zip and cut wood for a few days. You'll know what's heavy and what's not after that

The MS880 I rebuilt w/36" was 32#

But, cutting 20" was like limbing.

It was a 'truck saw'. You get the big saw off the truck. Drop the tree. Put the big saw back on the truck and cut up the tree with your 60cc x 20".
