Morning weekend lumber jack iam west of KC too like in the Topeka area. New to the site just trying to find like minded chainsaw junkies
Low hour Kubota/Kioti/Deere"yanmar"
For your purposes a sub compact utility tractor would make sense.
Loader and front wheel assist is a must.
25-35 hp would roll right up on your trailer and go with you anywhere.

Have an old L3750 that we bought used 16+ years ago. Rough, but can't kill it, my brother uses this one now. I bought a lightly used L3800 5 years ago and love it.I think Don has a couple small Kubota's and loves them.
Not sure how many hours he's got on em.
Closest neighbor to you is Kenneth in Tongonoxie. Mo. Jim and I are in St. Joseph. Jetmed is in Smithville, Mo. and Gritz is in Liberty. Are you or Jim the ones always selling saw on cl in the st joe area?

wow my post landed in the quote
Since we are talking tractors, give me some recommendations. The only thing mandatory is front end loader, mechanically sound, and cheap (10K and under). Will be used for firewood purposes. The more hp the better.

As much as I like them, I'd advise against one for Thomas' use.Just loader work? If so you might want to think about a skidsteer.

A. decent, low hour units are stupid expensive.
B. to get lifting capacity and stability, the unit you choose has to be disproportionately heavy.
C. they tear up yards if you ain't real careful, and sometimes even when you are.
The last used ones I was looking at ranged in price from $15,000 - $25,000 Well used.
More along these lines. Maybe a tick smaller.
Has anyone here used a vise lacer to fix a round baler belt? I am wondering if I get the 7" vise lacer which will do a 4" belt. Can I lace 4 inches at a time to lace a wider belt. Say 12" wide lace. Changing out the Kewanee elevator to a belt. Got a length of 120ft of belt for fee. Hoping a belt will not make as much noise.

Look at what would actually do the job, with ease, then go 20% bigger. That would be alright. I wouldn't go smaller. But then my eyes are always to big. And the little ones get tipsy quick.
