morning folks. 43f / 50f later.
I have one; they are handy, but overrated IMO. And, I followed the instructions on seasoning and I still battle rust. Yes, I keep mine in the garage, so it’s not outside in the rainView attachment 451675
Picked up a 36” black stone griddle yesterday for almost nothing.
One of the burners wouldn’t light.
Fixed that this morning. Took less than 5 minutes.
I called him and told him it is most likely fixable, but not by me. My hammer won't fix it so I am out.
Looks strait gasedView attachment 451834
poor picture, but that’s all you will get from me. The place Sam works has a lot of trees, so they do some tree work. One of the saws was down; I told Sam to bring it home and I would look at it. Has 0 compression so I pulled the muffler. Scored to death. I called him and told him it is most likely fixable, but not by me. My hammer won't fix it so I am out. My guess is it was straight gassed
Other than the beer, that could pass for me; the hat, the shorts, the glasses, the hammer, it all screams Thomas. I used to have a beard, but not that long. Hilarious...Thomas, is this you?
I just treat it like a cast iron pan..I have one; they are handy, but overrated IMO. And, I followed the instructions on seasoning and I still battle rust. Yes, I keep mine in the garage, so it’s not outside in the rain
That is the nice thing about them; you can cook everything all at once, like fajitas and breakfast. Also, you can cook 2 pounds of bacon at once without smoking up the house. I prefer my burgers, steaks, and chicken off the grill.I just treat it like a cast iron pan..
Deglaze/heat/oil
Cooked ribeyes on it and a big batch of mushrooms and onions..
Copious amounts of bacon grease..
All at the same time.
It gets crazy hot. I haven't found a need for anything over medium heat; and that is too much sometimes. I have seared my steaks on the blackstone and finished on the grill. I am still figuring out how to sear on my charcoal grillI was able to Carmelo r the outside of the 1/2” steaks and keep the center rare..
It’s got horsepower the gas grill don’t got.
